Our staff members here at Stowaway come from all over the United States and have many talents, skills, and perspectives to offer—and our design team members are no different! Here are the fabulous members of our design team:
Hanna Muhlestein is from West Jordan, Utah, and is majoring in interdisciplinary humanities. In her free time, she loves swimming and costuming. She combines these two hobbies as a professional mermaid. Hanna makes appearances at birthday parties, fairs, and other events as Keida of the Sea, her mer-sona.
Emily Shaw-Higham, who is from Brigham City, Utah, is double majoring in editing and publishing and Mandarin Chinese. She likes to read (she has read 60 books so far this year!), write fiction, and play the video game Don’t Starve Together. Emily also enjoys cooking new dishes, especially those from Asia.
Julia Harrison is from Clinton, Utah, and is majoring in English. She loves reading fantasy novels, watching TV shows, and listening to BTS.
Rebecca Varnell, who is from American Fork, Utah, is majoring in editing and publishing. In her free time, she likes to bake cakes. Right now, she’s learning how to do palette knife paintings on cake, and she says it’s been surprisingly difficult. Rebecca also published a novella last year—a YA rendition of Peter Pan told from Wendy’s perspective called Wendy’s Pirates.
Suzana Dvorak is from Wildomar, California, and is majoring in editing and publishing. She loves to do anything related to self-care, including going to spas, getting her nails done, journaling, or going to a sound bath. Suzana is also a big fan of hiking, has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and can speak French.
Rachel Harper is majoring in editing and publishing and is from Gig Harbor, Washington. In her free time, Rachel likes to write and paint. She also just learned how to make homemade ricotta cheese!
MJ Christensen is from Dallas, Texas, and is majoring in editing and publishing. She loves to knit and to read.
Leanne Chun is majoring in editing and publishing and minoring in Korean and TESOL. She claims both Lehi, Utah, and Olathe, Kansas, as home. In her free time, Leanne likes to sing, lift weights, and eat (all of which, she says, are especially enjoyable with friends and family).
Megan Boswell is from Fresno, California, and is majoring in editing and publishing. In her free time, she loves baking, knitting, and spending time with her husband. She is currently busy knitting scarves as Christmas gifts for family members!
